Mini-guide to Shodoshima during the Setouchi Triennale 2025

Hello everyone,

A few people here and there have asked me questions about Shodoshima, as it is probably the most difficult island to navigate during the Triennale.

So I'm writing this mini-guide for you, with all the important advice I can think of. I will probably write a more detailed one later, after I have seen the new art on Shodoshima, but I may not go to the island until late in the Spring session. So this post is for those of you who will be there in the spring. If you are coming in the summer or autumn, I will probably have found the time to write a more detailed one by then.

In fact, I've been thinking about writing more guides to the islands and selling them as PDFs and/or e-books on my site. Yes, sorry, that's the kind of writing I don't do for free anymore, because that's what gets stolen the most from my site, either by unscrupulous bloggers or journalists, or worse, AI bots that scrape and steal everything they can from the web.
